Product Overview
74VHCT138AFT(BJ) is a CMOS digital silicon monolithic IC. It is an advanced high speed CMOS 3-to-8 line decoder fabricated with silicon gate C²MOS technology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent bipolar schottky TTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. The input voltage is compatible with TTL output voltage. This device may be used as a level converter for interfacing 3.3V to 5V system. Input protection and output circuit ensure that 0 to 5.5V can be applied to the input and output (Note) pins without regard to the supply voltage. This structure prevents device destruction due to mismatched supply and input/output voltages such as battery back-up, hot board insertion, etc.

- Low power dissipation ICC is 4.0µA (max) at Ta = 25°C
- Compatible with TTL inputs is VIL = 0.8V (max) VIH = 2.0V (min)
- Power down protection is provided on all inputs and outputs
- Balanced propagation delay is tPLH ≈ tPHL, supply voltage range from 4.5V to 5.5V
- Pin and function compatible with 74 series(AC/HC/AHC/LV etc.)138 type
- Quiescent supply current is 4µA max at (VIN = VCC or GND, 5.5V, Ta = 25°C)
- Propagation delay time (A, B, C - active-low Y) is 7.6ns typ at (5.0V±0.5, CL=15pF, Ta=25°C)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
