74HC164D(BJ) is a CMOS digital silicon monolithic IC. It is a high speed CMOS 8bit serial-in parallel-out shift register (S-IN, P-OUT) fabricated with silicon gate C²MOS technology. It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent LSTTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. It consists of a serial-in, parallel-out 8-bit shift register with a CK input and an overriding active-low CLR input. Two serial data inputs (A, B) are provided so that one may be used as a data enable. All inputs are equipped with protection circuits against static discharge or transient excess voltage.

- Low power dissipation ICC is 4.0µA (max) at Ta = 25°C
- Supply voltage range from 2V to 6V
- Maximum clock frequency is 58MHz typ at (CL = 15pF, VCC = 5V, Ta = 25°C, input: tr = tf = 6ns)
- Input leakage current is ±0.1µA max at (VIN = VCC or GND, 6V VCC, Ta = 25°C)
- Quiescent supply current is 4µA max at (VIN = VCC or GND, 6V VCC, Ta = 25°C)
- Propagation delay time (active-low CLR-Qn) is 17ns typ at (6V VCC, CL = 50pF, Ta=25°C)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C
