The MCP2200-I/SS is an USB 2.0 to UART Protocol Converter with general purpose input/output (GPIO) pins. The serial converter enables USB connectivity in application that have an UART interface. The device reduces external components by integrating the USB termination resistors. It also has 256-bytes of integrated user EEPROM. It has eight general purpose input/output pins. Four of the pins have alternate functions to indicate USB and communication status.
- Supports full-speed USB (12Mbps)
- Implements USB protocol composite device
- 128-byte Buffer to handle data throughput at any UART baud rate
- Fully configurable VID and PID assignments and string descriptors
- USB driver and software support
- Responds to set line coding commands to dynamically change baud rates
- Supports 300 to 1000kbaud rate
- Hardware flow control
- 256-byte User EEPROM
- 12MHz Oscillator input
