MAX3082CSA+ is a high-speed transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communication containing one driver and one receiver. This device features fail-safe circuitry, which guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that the receiver output will be a logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). This transceiver typically draws 375µA of supply current when unloaded, or when fully loaded with the drivers disabled. It is used in applications such as RS-422/RS-485 communications, level translators, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, and industrial-control local area networks.
- Half duplex, 0.115Mbps data rate, slew rate limited, low power shutdown

- Supply current in shutdown mode is 10µA maximum at (VCC = +5V and TA = +25°C)
- Receiver input resistance is 96Kohm minimum at (-7V ≤ VCM ≤ +12V)

- Receiver output short-circuit current is ±95mA maximum at (VCC = +5V and TA = +25°C)
- Receiver differential threshold voltage is -125mV typical at (-7V ≤ VCM ≤ +12V)
- Input high voltage is 2V minimum at (VCC = +5V and TA = +25°C)
- Operating temperature range from 0°C to +70°C
- 8-pin SOIC package
