The MAX14783EESA+ is a high-speed 3.3V/5V RS485/RS422 transceiver with ±35KV HBM ESD protection in 8 pin NSOIC package. This half duplex RS485/422 transceiver operates at either 3.3V or 5V rails and data rate up to 40Mbps. The transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected ±20KV using air gap discharge per IEC 61000-4-2, ±12KV using contact ESD per IEC 61000-4-2 and ±35KV using human body model ESD per JEDEC JS-001-2012. The device is optimized for high speeds over extended cable runs while maximizing tolerance to noise. Typical applications include motion controllers, field bus networks, encoder interfaces and backplane busses.
- Supply voltage range is 3V to 5.5V
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- True Fail-safe receiver prevents false transition on receiver input short or open events
- Hot-swap capability eliminates false transitions during power-up or hot insertion
- Allows up to 32 transceivers on the bus
- Low 10μA (max) shutdown current for lower power consumption
- Short circuit protected outputs
- 1 unit load receiver input impedance
