ADM3312E is a 15kV ESD protected, 2.7V to 3.6V serial port transceiver with green idle. It feature an on-board charge pump dc-to-dc converter, eliminating the need for dual power supplies. This dc-to-dc converter contains a voltage tripler and a voltage inverter that internally generates positive and negative supplies from the input 3V power supply. This dc-to-dc converter operates in green idle™ mode, where by the charge pump oscillator is gated on and off to maintain the output voltage at ±7.25V under varying load conditions. This minimizes the power consumption and makes ideal for battery-powered portable devices. It contains three drivers and three receivers and is intended for serial port applications. It is widely used in application such as mobile phone handsets/data cables, laptop and notebook computers, printers, peripherals, modems, PDAs/hand-held devices/palmtop computers etc.
- Low EMI, charge pump capacitors is 0.1µF to 1µF
- Slew rate is 18V/µs typ at RL = 3Kohm, CL = 50pF to 1000pF1
- Low power shutdown is 20nA
- Full RS-232 compliance
- Data rate is 460kbps typ at (RL = 3kΩ to 7kΩ, CL = 50pF to 1000pF, VCC = 3V)
- One receiver active in shutdown
- Output voltage swing is ±6.4V typ at VCC = 3.0V
- Supply current is 0.45mA at no load; VCC = 3.0V to 3.6V; TA = 0°C to 85°C
- Operating temperature range is −40°C to +85°C
- Packaging style is 24-lead TSSOP 7” tape and reel
